The Kennels

Each dog is individually cared for in secure individual kennels. On request from owners, dogs from the same household can be accommodated together.

Food

We supply a dry dog nut. Customers may bring their own food. The price remains the same regardless. Stainless steel water bowls and feeding bowls are provided.

Hygiene

Each individually tiled kennel is cleaned and disinfected daily.

Bedding

Plastic beds are provided. You may like to bring a blanket or your dog’s favourite toy, for your dog’s comfort.

Administration of Medicines

If your pet requires special care, we will be more than happy to provide it, and giving medication is never a problem. Diabetic dogs are catered for. We tailor our services to meet your pet's needs because we understand that every pet is different.

The Extra Large Kennels

These kennels are the latest addition to Cookstown Boarding Kennels. They were designed to cater for two or more large dogs from the same household. The kennel floor and ceiling were fitted with extra insulation, which makes them very cosy.

Exercise

We have 6 securely fenced play runs, a large grass play area and an indoor play area, so your dog can run free, off lead and play games with balls /frisbees etc. every day. All dogs are exercised individually (unless they are from the same household).

During the day, the dogs are rotated between the large semi-covered individual runs, the large grass run or indoor playroom and their indoor kennel.

At night each dog is brought inside into their individual sleeping quarters where beds are provided. This routine ensures the dogs have maximum interaction with staff members. The outdoor runs allow dogs to see and hear other dogs, which encourages socialisation among dogs. Dogs never come in contact with other dogs.

The Indoor Kennels

Providing a Relaxing Environment

At Cookstown Boarding Kennels, every possible care is taken to make your pet's stay as comfortable as possible. There are televisions in the indoor kennels. These are put on at different times throughout the day for residents who are resting indoors. The television is a familiar sound for house dogs and the majority of dogs find it relaxing.

The Indoor Playroom

This playroom was designed as an extra activity area for the residents of Cookstown Boarding Kennels! Play is an integral part of a dog's life. Through play, dogs establish boundaries, get exercise and release energy. This indoor playroom is perfect for our Irish climate. The dogs can play off leash, interacting with staff members, without the worry of rain interfering in their games! All dogs are exercised individually in the playroom (unless they are from the same household).
